The food was beyond compare, best meal of my life. However, the waiter dropped a cocktail down the back of my father’s coat, thank heavens it was waterproof.
But I don’t hold it against them.

I recently visited The Ivy Victoria and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. Here’s a detailed breakdown of our visit:
Service:
The service was truly excellent. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. They were courteous, attentive, and knowledgeable, answering all our questions and providing great recommendations throughout the evening.
Decor and Atmosphere:
The decor was opulent, with elegant touches that created a luxurious yet comfortable environment. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively, making it an ideal spot for a festive outing.
Drinks:
We tried a couple of cocktails from their new Christmas drinks menu, and they were absolutely amazing. Each drink was beautifully crafted, with festive flavors that perfectly captured the holiday spirit.
Food:
The food was of great quality and offered excellent value for money. We started with the truffle arancini rice balls, mozzarella, and zucchini fritti, which were all absolutely delicious. For mains, we indulged in the Keralan duck curry, blackened cod with parmesan & truffle chunky chips and lobster linguine Each dish was cooked to perfection, with rich, flavorful ingredients that left us savoring every bite.
Overall Experience:
Our evening at The Ivy Victoria was nothing short of wonderful. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a lively yet sophisticated ambiance made it an unforgettable dining experience.
We will definitely be returning and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in an upscale setting.
To note - Pre-booking is required. Arriving on time! They might ask for the table back after two hours if they are extremely busy. They have two bars - upstairs and downstairs so you can always go for drinks!

In early January I was going to see the Hamilton performance and called into the IV in Victoria for lunch with my wife. The food was good and the atmosphere is nice. However the service was overbearing - what I mean by that was that four people asked us for a drink within the first five minutes And then equally five minutes later another four people individually asked us what we would like to eat. it was good service to get such a prompt initial contact but then the three additional people ruined the occasion. I couldn’t talk to my wife without getting interrupted all the time and it continued throughout the meal; then when it came to ordering, my wife ordered the large salad as a main and got the small. She ordered the Rose Veuve Clicquot and received the house white champagne. The overall experience was poor especially when told our time was up - despite my dessert not having arrived
The Ivy brand is built on high standards across there restaurants. As a regular customer to many over the country this has hurt the brand. I saw a Browns opening across the road and think people will naturally migrate to their instead.
Fundamentally the Victoria Ivy is a transactional Restaurant . People go there for one pre theatre meal. This restaurant knows this and therefore know this is a one time meal here. But the bigger picture is the brand damage and then impact on eating at other Ivys in the UK. The Ivy Chain and Macdonalds have the same ethos. Go to any to have a consistent experience. You know what you’re supposed to be getting and that’s why you go. A poor experience hurts the overall brand.

How to spoil a dinning experience
There is a thin lane between being attentive and nuisance. Unfortunately our waiter Ayoub was the latter. His relentless leaning over our table i.e. our food, to enquire if there was anything we needed was beyond annoying.
Feeling harassed by constant fussing I had to ask if he needed the table.
But the final straw, we had taken a friend out for her birthday this was included in the booking, but despite telling him two out of the three of us would be paying and the amounts, he felt the need to announce across the table how much the bill was and the amounts paid/to be paid.
Hindsight I wish I had asked for the service charge to be removed as what we received was akin to harassment not the service I’m used to when I’ve gone to this Ivy which for many years was the last Friday of the month.
P.S. a label on the heavy entrance door would be helpful so you know which one to pull and frequent checks of the toilets is needed given 2/4 were blocked.

Had a great time at the bar cus the place was packed! We are going back tonight with a reservation. Good , busy atmosphere, great food and service. We went back tonight and out server, Ana Lopez, made our night really great

Opulent interiors, meticulous service, excellent food, welcoming entrance staff and attentive waitors. It's always a delight to dine there as it turns a lunch into an occasion. The ambience is simply lovely exuding a good happy vibe throughoutl the restaurant. The staff are expertly trained and this translates into impeccable service to the customer. The washrooms are elegant with each cubicle (pink and marble) having it's own washbasin. The Ivy is simply divine and the prices are extremely reasonable. It's a very special place.

Tanto el señor de la entrada como DAVID, nuestro camarero portugués superamable.
Todo se torció cuando un camarero alto delgado y con barba SIN NINGUNA CAPACIDAD PARA RECONOCER A UN NIÑO CON NECESIDADES ESPECIALES,( autista), nos llamó la atención porque nuestro hijo estaba haciendo más ruido del que él estimaba oportuno.
Y SIN NINGUNA SENSIBILIDAD.
Como si a nosotros no nos molestara el ruido de las demás mesas y comensales.
La reseña hubiese sido de 5 estrellas y la propina buena, si no hubiese aparecido ese impresentable.
La comida muy buena, pero no saben atender a personas especiales.

Très chouette restaurant, la décoration est magnifique, le cadre est très sympa. Le service est bien mais pourrait être mieux (les apéritifs sont servi après les plats) la nourriture est très bonne.
Très bon restaurant dans le quartier Victoria.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very convenient for Victoria and Buckingham Gate. On the day I went, it was busy and I had to queue along with people who hadn't made a booking due to the narrow entrance, which was less than ideal. The food was good, but I would say not outstanding. I ordered the shepherd's pie which was tasty but, in all honesty, not very different from the ready to serve meals you can buy at Waitrose. Still, a good option if you want a nice ambience and lovely decor.

We had a wonderful dining experience! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and our waitress, Ana Lopez, provided outstanding service. She was friendly, attentive, and made our visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

This was a great venue to host a 70th birthday celebration for my mother. We hired the Pelican room for the evening and the staff (particularly Ana Lopes) were fantastic, ensuring that we were well looked after for the duration. The food was great, the room decor was beautiful, and the flat screen TV was awesome for sharing pics and videos that we prepared. The only downside was there was issues with the Aircon so the room got a bit too hot with 25 bodies in there so the door had to be left open, but we were compensated for the inconvenience which was appreciated.
